I Think everyone there does a great job!

I kept getting an error message when sending to jhazz@yahoo.com. I even tried to take one of the z's out. I tried aol thinking that I gotten it wrong. PLEASE CONSIDER MY ENTRY:

I would like to win the trip for my mother. She is a person who constantly works to improve herself and her character. She has been an Oprah Winfrey fan for many years. I can remember her coming home from work and wanting "just a few minutes" to watch the Oprah Winfrey VHS video that she recorded daily.

My mother has been a "giver" since early childhood. She began life with a difficult beginning. After her mother died when she was aged 5 she was raised by an older sister who was 18 at the time. As the youngest sibling she grew up watching her nieces and nephews and she remains the favored aunt of all of my cousins and to many of their children.

My mother had me at an early age of 18 and she has been a committed and caring parent to both me and my younger sister. I mention all of this because she has been a hard worker all of her life and very little has ever been given to her. She's the kind of mom that finds it difficult to be on the receiving in of something wonderful and special and unexpected because for a long time she felt as though she didn't deserve it.

She used to believe that she could not love others because she loved her mother and her mother died so she was always afraid that those she loved would die or go away. Oprah's self help philosophies, especially early on in her shows helped my mother to realize that not only could she love, but that she deserved healthy love in return.

My mother has a lot of fears, not only the one about loving and being loved. Oprah shows have given her books to read for fun and for self help, the show has encouraged her to live through her struggles and that those struggles can strengthen your life.

I have tried to get Oprah tickets in the past without a response. I'm not sure how she would receive this gift if she wins, I'll probably have to drive her to Chicago because one of her newer fears is flying. She hasn't flown since the ValuJet Flight 592 was a that crashed on May 11, 1996. She used to fly ValuJet back and forth from Atlanta to Louisville because she transferred with her job to Macon, GA when Brown & Williamson moved it's headquarters. She hated the move to GA, but she did it to make life easier for my sister and myself. It hurt her to be away from family and living in a city alone, but she continued to video and watch Oprah which seemed to help. I can remember several conversations she shared with me about something that was on Oprah.

She lives such a self sacrificing life and continued to cry many tears on the road between Louisville and Macon to be present for every significant event in my sister's and my life. She drove through tornado warnings the entire trip when my daughter was born on May 18, 1995. I can go on and on about things she counts as insignificant but to those she helps is really life altering. I'll just share the most recent event. My car was washed away with the most recent flash flood. I need a car for work and it was my mother who loaned me the money to purchase a used car so that I could continue to work. I love my mother and I would love to have her to have something wonderful and unexpected happen in her life as she has caused to happen in the lives of so many others.
