Midwestern Name.... National Appeal!!

Simmons College held it's Baccalaureate Service at First Virginia Avenue Baptist Church Sunday evening, May 17th. A stirring message of Hope was delivered from Rev. Rusty Ellison of Walnut St. Baptist Church. The Graduates were excited and ready to embark on their respective journeys. The stage was set for a tremendous blessing for future students.
Executive Vice-President of the College, Rev. Frank Smith Jr. stated,
"On March 23, 2009, the Commision on Accreditation of the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) drafted an action letter to Dr. Kevin W. Cosby, President of Simmons College of Kentucky that the Self-Study Report and other Progress Reports of Simmons College of Kentucky sent by the Administration on October 31, 2008 had been reviewed, accepted and approved! Because of this unprecedented milestone in the history of Simmons, the College has been approved for a visit of an ABHE Evaluation Team for the fall term of 2009. Once Simmons receives a favorable review on the basis of the evaluation it is anticipated that in February, 2010, the ABHE Commission on Accreditation will grant the second phase of Accreditation to Simmons, moving Simmons from its current Applicant status to Candidate status. This next level pre-accreditation status will allow Simmons to begin preparations to offer federal financial aid to students who qualify for such aid to supplement the cost of their education at Simmons!"In his closing address to those in attendance at the Baccalaureate, President Kevin Cosby, delivered the exciting news that Simmons received it's accreditation and this coming Fall, students will have the opportunity to get federal funding for scholarships!
Please contact Rev. Frank M. Smith, Jr., Executive Vice President/Special Assistant to the President at 502-776-1443, ext. 16 or email fsmith@simmonscollegeky.edu to make your contribution of students and scholarships to enhance the capacity of Simmons to offer quality Christian education to more students and begin a powerful fall semester as we anticipate our special fall evaluation visit.
